Scroll down to Billy Saunders' letter.
This especially gets to me because I personally knew, roomed, and worked with one of these "outrages." A response? Hell yeah, my typing fingers are already itching.

Wow. I just read a bunch of letters to that editor- I'm going to detour my comments before getting to Mr. Saunders- b/c all the othe letters were about education!
(Which is relevent to me- 'cus I teach high school- and I can honestly say that none of those people even went to look at a public school in Los Angeles.)
Yes, I know 30 mil sounds like a lot of money- too much to waste on schools. After all, it's not as it we have that many students in the public school system... oh wait.
and yes, all parents should be expected to teach their kids how to read and write and do math. That's the problem- the parents. No, it's not the bad neighborhoods or lousy economy or mixed signals kids get these days about where to place their priorities. It's the parents lack of interest- because no parent works two jobs, all mothers stay home and everyone's mom and dad can read English... Psyche!!
I do agree wtih the guy who said that we need more schools to be built- and maintanence crews to maintain them. It's either that or add six tracks to next school year- and three weeks on at the end of the semester (after finals) because you have to meet minimum hours requirements, but you hope no kids will show up.
Ok- Now to Mr. Saunders.
What. An. Ass.
I have no further comment on that embarrassement of a u.s. citizen.

I agree, nicely stated.
As for Ms. Peedin: same old arguements, same old lies. *sigh* At least this time the Senate was smart and didn't pass the thing. I wish people would understand how dangerous it is to change the Constitution.

You'd also think people would realize how dangerous it is to start a pre-emptive war-
Or drill for oil in a national park-
Or fail to react to global warning-
or pull out of international treaties-
or drive under the influence...
but no.
It's just a sorry ploy to secure conservative votes before the election. Sad mostly.
Hey Crazy- GREAT response! Don't think it could have been put better. You rock!

Just crawling up from the abyss to say: amazing response crazy. Until this moment, I had no idea what your real name was, and was wondering who the "Adam" was who was posting comments on eris' livejournal blog.
I hope the pinhead read your response.

My response is at the very end.
The letter before it by Ms. Peedin regarding the marriage amendment may also be of some interest to you.
